Join a project

Join us on Mitzvah Day as we come together to care for and improve our shule and the spaces we share as a community. We’ll be tackling a range of jobs around the shule, including tidying and cleaning outdoor areas, freshening up indoor spaces, and helping with general maintenance and organisation. There will be plenty of different tasks to get involved in, so whether you have an hour or a few hours, and whether you’re handy, organised or simply happy to lend a hand, we’d love your help. It’s a practical way to give back to our community, work alongside others and help make our shule an even more welcoming place for everyone.

Orana House has asked our community once again to help support the children in their care with a fresh collection of summer essentials. Building on last year’s Towels, Hats & Treats campaign, we’re gathering new towels, kids’ hats, and rashies to help families enjoy safe, comfortable time outdoors. Donations can be dropped at upcoming NCJWA WA events or arranged directly with our committee. Every item makes a real difference for a family rebuilding their lives. Singing for residents at Jewish Care Windsor

Location: Windsor, VIC

This term, the Tzedakah Committee has focused on the value of giving through acts of service and the gift of time. During Elul, Prep and Primary students explored the meaning of Tzedakah and participated in activities that supported the wider Jewish community. From creating cards for COA Rosh Hashanah care packages to making decorations for the Sukkah at Montefiore Randwick, students generously shared their time and talents. It has been wonderful to see them demonstrate the Community Kind, bringing joy and connection to others while embodying the true spirit of Tzedakah.

Inspiring Healthy Communities- we want everyone to enjoy getting active and healthy. Please donate shoes and sports clothes in good condition that will be distributed to remote under serviced Indigenous communities in the north of WA, supporting and empowering them to lead healthy active lives.

On Sunday 15 and Sunday 22 of November at 7.30am a group of volunteers will supply and cook breakfast for 60 people who are the families of children in hospital.

Support with packing Kookaburra Kindness Boxes to prepare for them to be distributed to government primary schools in Glen Eira over Hannukah. The Kookaburra Kindness Box is a cross cultural multimodal literacy resource to support culturally safe classrooms in government schools over Hannukah. Created by myself (a VIT registered teacher who is Jewish and is employed as a Trauma Informed Education Specialist) along with Dr Naba Alfayadh, the author of the Kookaburra Kindness book, in collaboration with Monash University and in Partnership with Stand Up. This initiative is funded by Rahma Health.
